Overview
AFRI-METHER AD is the adult-strength member of the AFRI-METHER antimalarial range, combining Artemether 80 mg with Lumefantrine 480 mg in a single tablet. Artemether clears malaria parasites rapidly, while Lumefantrine remains active longer to eliminate those that survive the first phase. The 80/480 strength allows a complete three-day adult course in just six tablets, supplied in an Alu-Alu blister and labelled in English and French.
Indications
Artemether–Lumefantrine tablets are widely used for:
- Treatment of acute, uncomplicated Plasmodium falciparum malaria in adults
- Mixed infections that include P. falciparum
