Overview
AFRI-AXONE is a ceftriaxone 1 g injection supplied as a complete combipack. Each pack contains a vial of sterile ceftriaxone powder, a 5 ml Lidocaine ampoule for mixing an intramuscular (IM) dose, and a 10 ml ampoule of Sterile Water for Injection for intravenous (IV) use. Because the diluents come in the same pack, hospitals and clinics don't need to source them separately.
Indications
Ceftriaxone is a broad-spectrum antibiotic commonly used for serious bacterial infections, including:
- Lower respiratory tract infections and pneumonia
- Urinary tract and kidney infections
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Bone and joint infections
- Bacterial meningitis and septicaemia
- Gonorrhoea
